Health System Specialist
This position is located in the Geriatrics and Extended Care Service at the VA Connecticut Health Care Systems in West Haven, CT.
Functioning as the GEC management analyst, the incumbent will be self-directed in the performance of assignments that are complex, yet broad-based in scope.
The incumbent will perform analytical and evaluative work of administrative aspects of organizational operations and management that requires a recurring need for data analysis and precise interpretation.
The incumbent is expected to perform work involving management level analytical projects and is expected to independently initiate changes for the improvement of all GEC processes.
The following duties include, but are not limited to:
Independently develop programs to insure that quality provisions are planned, developed and implemented to identify, prevent and correct unsatisfactory conditions and elements which influence the regulatory correctness and responsiveness of transactions and services.
Develops data capture and reporting procedures to track progress of quality program management initiatives.
Analyzes segments of business process or transaction.
Identifies indicators, progress measures, objectives and emphasizes areas for improvement within the GEC Care Line; he/she will initiate outcome based operational changes.
Acquires, analyzes, compiles, consolidate, reviews and edits information relevant to GEC quality improvement activities including; quality of care, Veteran satisfaction, and value of health care within the GEC Service Line.
Presents prepared analytical briefings, exhibits, charts, reports, Powerpoint and other narrative and statistical material relevant to the GEC Service Line's objective.
Performs other duties as assigned.

The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
