Advanced Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (MRI)

Employees at this level who are not leads or supervisors may be assigned varying duties related to diagnostic imaging.
Employees are trained to work in one or more difficult and complex modalities performing procedures related to these modalities as well as providing general diagnostic procedures in a therapeutic setting.
At this grade level, it is expected that such assignments be unique, perhaps with expert specialization in complex areas of radiologic technology.
Position is an operator of the super conductive Magnetic Resonance Imager (MRI), a highly complex computerized imaging device which employs the use of strong magnetic fields and radio waves to acquire images.
He/she also operates one or more of the following:
the Computed Tomography (CT), Digital subtraction Angiography (DSA), Diagnostic Ultrasound machines (US).
The duties may include but are not limited to:
o Maintains the cleanliness of his/her assigned work area, maintains necessary supplies in the work area.
Reports all shortages to the supervisor, as well as any equipment failure.
In the absence of the supervisor contacts Biomedical Engineering or the service vendor to arrange for service.
o Observes patient safety guidelines as set forth in department and Medical Center policies and procedures.
o Accepts duties/assignments outside normal workstation for purposes of receiving additional training, and to provide needed coverage as determined by his/her supervisor based on patient workload shift changes and availability of personnel.
o Accurately and routinely performs the associated DHCP and imaging network responsibilities that relate to a patient examination and the patient's record.
o Checks all equipment and reports failures to the Chief Technologist.
o When operating the MRI, the incumbent coordinates with Radiologist and Physicist to determine the most ideal parameters to pulse the magnet for each individualized patient examination.
o Programs technical factors by interrogating computer console and responding with inputs that will result in the required parameters as determined by the Radiologist and Physicist.
o Assists physicians and other investigators in the development and execution of research protocols and maintaining the records as necessary to validate the research project or funding grant.
In addition, the incumbent assists and develops training programs for new Computerized Imaging Specialists, physicians in training, and general clinical employees.
o Monitor the examination by checking computations, performances and results of the selected parameters, to obtain the best diagnostic computer data and images.
The incumbent performs clinical analysis of data recorded by the computer and records the computer data on film, magnetic tape and printer plotter paper.
o Incumbent is a member of a team providing 24 hour/day capability including after-hours response to emergencies which require an MRI, DSA, CT or Ultrasound technical support.
The incumbent will be asked to participate in such emergency care.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
